DRAWING

I love to experiment.
I devolop ideas using drawing and printmaking techniques.

I take my inspiration from many sources most importantly my environment,
the physical and emotional. Other than using traditional drawing techniques I will cut and tear paper to construct line and shape, this gives different textures.
I like the picture to have different qualities and appeal at varying distances.

CERAMICS

I like using paperclay particularly the high firing clays.
I fire the work in a homemade Raku kiln.

I hand build and enjoy playing with texture in the work. I enjoy tearing paper clay to construct form; I hope to achieve a sketchy feel to the figurative sculptures. I find it a very spontaneous way to create, and I can respond to the clay and impress my emotion on it as I sculpt the pieces.

I am very interested in the human form and the human condition.
our fragility and sensitivities
